The following are statements from candidates for the 2026 annual election.

Candidate Statement by John Boska

I live at 131 Thames Valley Drive with my wife, Cindy. I am currently serving as the president of our Homeowners Association (HOA). I was elected to the Board in June 2021, which was the original homeowners Board that took control from the developer, and I have had previous experience on an HOA Board of Directors. I am retired and have the time to work on the Board. The Board established a website, www.StonehurstEasley.org, where we have posted numerous items such as HOA Governing Documents, HOA Announcements, and Meeting Minutes in order to maintain visibility of the Board's actions. I believe that the Board's work has helped maintain property values in Stonehurst and helped make it a desirable place to live. I would appreciate your support and your vote.

Candidate Statement by Dianne Crooks

Hello, I’m Dianne Crooks, currently serving as the HOA Board Vice President. My husband, Ron Crooks, a proud United States Air Force veteran with over 30 years of service, and I reside at 106 Thames Valley Drive. I’ve called Easley home since 2007, but I’ve been a part of Pickens County since 1973. Both Ron and I grew up in neighboring Oconee County, and we are proud graduates of several local universities.
I retired after 20 fulfilling years as a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade teacher with the School District of Pickens County, where I had the pleasure of teaching many wonderful students—two of whom now live in Stonehurst. In the classroom, I navigated the challenges of working with children from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs. The experience of engaging with parents from different walks of life has much in common with our vibrant neighborhood, which thrives on its diversity of nationalities, languages, and cultures.
I believe my career as an educator equipped me with invaluable lifelong skills in leadership, organization, and community service. I’m passionate about collaborating with others to find the best solutions to issues that impact us all, especially here in our neighborhood. My commitment to inclusivity and my dedication to working with people of all backgrounds has been central to my involvement in professional, civic, and social organizations over the years.
It has been both an honor and a pleasure serving on the HOA Board this year, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue representing your interests in 2026.

Candidate Statement by Melinda Boyd

My name is Melinda Boyd and we moved into our home in January 2021. My husband, Ryan, and I relocated here from South Dakota. Ryan retired from the military recently and we ended up here in Easley after looking for places that check the most important boxes- warmer climate and closer to family! We are both originally from the East Coast and this location puts us half way between our families. Having lived far away from family during Ryan’s military service it was important to us to be closer to them, especially after the pandemic made travel to see them much more challenging.
In terms of experience serving on a board, being a military spouse for 10+ years, I have developed my leadership and communication skills by serving on the boards of multiple Spouse Associations at our duty stations. I have also spent the last 12 years serving in some capacity on the board of my affiliate for the professional organization in the field of dietetics. I love being involved, helping people, and learning more first-hand about my community. Those are the main reasons that drive my desire to serve to a board like this one. As we are still new to the area, being hands on in cultivating the neighborhood morale is important to me and I know will help me make new and lasting friendships in our new hometown. Candidate Statement by Andi Hendricks

I live at 123 Thames Valley Drive with my husband, Will, and our 3 dogs (Alexus, Arielle and Allie). Some of you already know me as the Neighborhood Notary. We landed in Stonehurst in February 2021. From day one, we have loved this neighborhood. I have truly enjoyed serving on the Board the past four years and would be honored to continue serving.
